Weddings are about having friends and family help you celebrate getting married. To me they are supposed to be one of the best days of your life and you should have all your loved ones with you. Well as many as possible. So when I met Amy for the first time I felt like I was talking to a friend. We sat at Starbucks and chatted for a long time and it just felt like it was meant to be. She was down to earth, fun and I loved the fact that she brought her mom. Being so close to mine and seeing how close they are made me certain this was a match. Yes I have left a meeting and thought ‘this just isn’t right’ but in this case it was soooo ‘RIGHT’! Love when that happens.
Amy married Jason at Old Springer House in an outdoor ceremony that was just as cute as they are. Something about barns, sunshine and smiling faces makes me happy. Even though I was unable to shoot the wedding due to the birth of my daughter, I was able to see the day unfold in front of me through the images Nadia from Sugar Photo Studios captured. I was honoured when Amy wanted me to do the editing as it broke my heart when I had to mention I wouldn’t be able to be at the wedding. I truly do love my clients and it’s always good to feel loved back.
As with all my sessions I sent a sneak peek or five to Amy and there was one images in particular that made me smile when I saw it. Not because it was stunning or perfectly composed but because the moment captured almost brought a tear to my eye. As I mentioned, weddings are where everyone comes together and some of the images captured speak louder than words ever could. It wasn’t until I met with Amy to give her the final images that I found out there was more to that image than I could have ever thought. Short version is…there is a very similar image from when she was little and it had great sentimental value. We all want photos with our grandparents as they hold a special place in our hearts. What makes it even more amazing is when there is a genuine happy smile on their face. This photo will now join the one taken so many years ago and show how time has gone by.
Can’t wait for the next step in this couples life together. Bring on the babies!!!! Just kidding. A dog will do just fine for now!
